ABOUT:
"O2" is a female centric band formed in 2018. Being the First Female Band of Odisha, it was like a dream come true experience for each member. The name Orphic Orioles has been derived from two Greek words. Orphic means the power which an artist process, his love and madness for his art. Oriole is an exotic American bird which has the capacity of producing beautiful musical notes. Thus, the name Orphic Orioles represents the band & its members.
THE JOURNEY:
Initially it started with the bassist of the band Smita & guitarist Sibani. Later their path crossed with two more beautiful, talented individuals in their musical journey. They were initially influenced by Indian classical, pop, rock, metal, freestyle. Gradually they got inclined more into Pop & Rock more profoundly. While each member has their own potential & approach towards their respective instruments, they all have a tint of different singing styles as well. Which makes the band curious in experimenting & representing every genre & playing they attempt in their own way. The adamant in enjoying what they play rather than just playing shows their keen interest in music. All these years they are heading together with a single motto: To live & enjoy their musical journey...To inspire & get inspired "
The whole journey of every breathe is feeling, experiencing & experimenting. You can do anything at any age for your passion you truly believe in. That's what says the Bassist of the band. She has done her graduation in Botany (hons). A happy homemaker who left her job to pursue more what interests her. A keen learner who believes there is always things to learn.A passionate artist, writer, poet, trained classical odissi dancer. She is fervently into singing & music since childhood. Though she has not formally trained, yet tries & gathers everything comes to her knowledge. She started learning guitar in 2017 what later lead her joining the band as a bassist. Being a deep thinker, she is always curious about out of box thinking & ideas. Believes in simplicity & a zestful nature lover.
Very much inspired by Indian classical, rock music. A great fan of versatile singers like Hariharan, KK, Kishore Kumar, Jagjit Singh.

She is the power house of the band. As the instrument she plays she exhilarates the band. The trained professional drummer and singer started her singing since she was in class 7 and her drums journey began recently. Currently she is pursuing grade 4 in drums. Her love for singing and playing drums is like a religious practice for her. Music is something that helps her express every emotion she go through in life. Its a holy connection like the almighty and his servants she believes.
Always wanted to have her own band like any other aspiring musicians and finally she has it at such a young age.

The grade 10 student is currently training for madhyama purna in hindustani classical. She is a singer and also plays guitar. Recently she started playing guitar yet adapted it like a pro. She is a quick learner, calm & hardworking. Being the youngest member of the band she possesses the most powerful voice & the most enthusiastic member. Very much inspired by a lot of singers yet a die hard fan of singer Taylor Swift.
The lead vocalist of O2 says " Singing has been my passion ever since I can remember and I wish to pursue and keep learning music for as long as i can." - ANUSHKA
Being always quite & a true observer she is always focused about what she needs. A keen learner who started singing while barely she could speak & understand languages. Not formally trained, yet tries and adapts techniques frequently. She has done MPhil & now serving the govt. of Odisha. An avid nature lover, artist, singer who pursued her guitar playing more profoundly in her college days. She truly believes in simplicity & hard work. Meaningful writing, poetry, music fascinates her more. She is mostly inspired by Indian classical music, singers. Western singing is her forte.
